because i have made a very drastic change with my blog... (the first one being the black and white stuff that michelle adores) i lost the previous entries that i have already entered and actually loved at that time... wait, now im blabbering...
you will actually read the previous entries that i have written on my first blog... , well, the meaningful ones...
this first one is all about the SUKOB event with my clique... wehehehe...
wala lang...

THE GLORY THAT WAS "SUKOB"
----------

~the date was July 29... my heart kept on pounding heavily as six o'clock drew nearer and nearer.. my heart seemed to explode... my excitement is driving me nuts... GOD!!! what to do??!!!
waaaahhhhh... enough of those literary attempts and other blah blahs...
its risa's big day!!! the girl just turned 18!! uuuyyy...
i cannot just tell you how exhilirated i am about the SUKOB event of our clique...
i cannot even tell you how big a chito rono fan i am... from Dahas (Maricel Soriano, Richard Gomez), dekada '70 (vilma santos, christopher de leon), la vida rosa (rosanna roces, diether ocampo), yamashita (danilo barrios) and of course until the horror film that braved all qualms about filipino moviemaking, feng shui (kris aquino, jay manalo)...

jennifer suggested risa to just have her birthday celebrated in enchanted kingdom.. personally i am more thrilled to have her bash here... eheheh... and because of the weapons of deterioration from mother nature aka henry, i suggested to just catch a flick.. well, that's what i'm really planning... (what leo wants, leo gets!!! hahahaha)
and so my saturday was filled with optimism for the awaited moment... eat bulaga just passed by like a nanosecond and the next thing i remember, i am already getting ready for 6 oclock...
risa was so early.. as early as 2 in the afternoon, she said she was already at Market MArket.. it was not a surprise however... well, i just hurried and slipped into my pants and shirt and rush our way to herson's house.. mariel was there, with her glittery shirt (wahahaha)...
we rode a taxi going to eastwood city... first went to the cinemas to get our movie tickets... we arrived at around eight or something so we took the 10 o'clock showing... it was the last full show... we hang out for a while in the cinema lobby taking endless snapshots of ourselves... (herson,, braving all the odds taking his photo beside jennifer aniston in the enormous "the break up" poster.. i should have taken mine also... *sigh)..
mario, karolle and jennifer arrived at last at about 8:40 or so then the photo sessions continued... heheh...
we also went near the "statue" man... you have to put a coin or a bill in his box so he can move for you.. blah.. why do i have to pay you?? gumalaw ka kung gusto mo...
minutes passed and we all decided to just have our dinner.. good thing "PRINCE OF JAIPUR" is just a minute or so walk from the cinemas so we setled for indian cuisines..
the place was cozy... a little dark for me... wahah.. but it takes them forever before accommodating us.. hmp.. the man who spoke in "parseltongue" (woaah.. no he just spoke a language that sounds reeeeaaalllly weird... ) took a piece of his time trying to get our orders... ken, mariel and risa is in charge of the food and mario, jennifer, karolle and i were to choose the drinks... i chose green mango juice first but badly, they ran out of it... *another sigh... so, presured as i am, i just chose the most common of them all, the special blended iced tea... karolle joked a lot about choosing perrier for her drinks... (it was the 160 peso-imported bottled water.. can you imagine that??)
it took the staff ages before putting our orders placed in our table... ohh, i almost forgot, they also let us try an appetizer i think which looks like FRIED TISSUE PAPER.. with matching three varieties of "sawsawans" the first being the mixed vegetable, then the mango ekek, and the green blah blah.. it tastes like "vinegar pusit" only spicieerrrr!!! indians are so for the spicy stuffs.. acckkk!!!
the was fine... so indian... i ate quite a lot but i only took two serving spoons-full of their rice.. the rice is weird.. it is "buhaghag" and thin but it tastes good... there's the ulam that tastes like chicken curry, there're the prawns, and the others were fish turned into chicken curry-like dish.. "coooll"...
well, mario, karolle, risa and i went up to see the fuss about the comfort room.. they said it looks outstanding... we went there and really saw why... it looks regal.. and soo, pang-mayaman... ehehe... photos, photos and phots again... going down, we saw jennifer asking the waitress saomething and as we reached the table she declared her plan... we are each going to try the "alcoholic" beverages on the menu... groaaaannnnnn for me but hooorraaahh for mariel!!! ehehehe... there are six or seven different stuffs laid before our eyes...
i only remembered quite a few...
1. sex on the beach (or sex on that bitch!!! i don't know eh...)
2. cosmopolitan
3. blow job (only mariel, risa and jennifer tried this... ahahaha good thing!!)
i forgot the other drinks...
ohhh... time for the bill... it cost risa Php 3, 035.oo but with the 12% vat it sums up to Php 3, 338.00.. its a little lower than karolle's bill in greenbelts' RED BOX...
time for the movies... SUKOB!!!!!!!!!!! (shit!!! the exclamation key got stock!! ahahaha...)
we are to go at Cinema 1.. we entered the movie house with the trailers coming...i'd like to watch The Ant Bully, The Monster House and surprisingly, the new Star Cinema chic filick, "You Are the One".. it topbills Toni Gonzaga and the "pa-cute na kasi sinasabihang guwapo" Sam Milby... Toni is Sam Milby's salvation.. she is such a good comedienne... Eugene Domingo is also there... i love her...
woaaahh!! the lights were turned off na.. SUKOB will start!!!
then, a different Carmina-musical score dons our ears... good!!! it can be a dance hit.. ehehe..
the start of the film can make you doubt if it is a good film because kris aquino starts the "don't worry-i'm famous na-they won't notice it anymore" acting.. i like it because liza lorena is there.. boots anson roa is also present as the "bothered" wife of anpother favorite ronaldo valdez...
acting wise, it is fine... claudine barretto deserves applause for her versatile performance... she really looked like a barrio lass, a maputi version nga lang but she made me feel like she is really a timid province woman.. plus, she is soooo pretty... kris aquino's acting is just soooo... uhmmm.... kris aquino.. yun tipong you'll not notice it na lang because she is the already famous kris aquino, why do you mind pa if she can act... she can.. but there are scenes that work for her and scenes that really don't .. claudine overpowers her in some scenes.. in fact, there's a scene where the both of them are present and they have to look troubled, claudine was "lighted" and kris is hidden in the dark to add up to the emotional turmoil that envelopes her... in directing, you do that if the actor cannot give you the emotions you need from her or him.. but i give credit to kris for one scene where she acted superbly..
ronaldo valdez is the surprise comedic act there... i also laughed at that scene where the people exploded in laughter but i don't understand why they couldn't get the reason why he acts that way... it is not supposed to be a joke or another "uro dela cruz-kind of horror with comedy". it is already his denial stage... i should not go further before i spoil you the whole thing.. boots anson roa is plausible for her portrayal.. the one scene in helen's house is just woowwww... liza lorena was fair... wendell ramos, is fat!!! wahahaha.. he doesn't need to act naman e... glaiza de castro is greeeeeeaaaattt!!! i really like this girl since her maalaala performance... maja salvador surprised me although there is still kunot-boo school of acting visible... *sigh...
story, is good not so great because there are loopholes... why did the curse already happen while claudine is getting married... ohhh... i don't want to really tell.. watch it..
script.. is flawed but you'll forgive chito rono and chris martinez for that... cinematography is great not as great as ja tadena!!! ehehe... eli balce is good in separating the two worlds of kris and claudine... kris' pores are visible .. claudines' face is so makinis.. haaayyy... the musical score is a good point taht adds up to the terror factor... but you can hear feng shui in the movie... same person working er..
directing is good if not absolutely good... i notice chito rono's technique to make the people scared when he wants us to be.. he makes you look at the characters' eyes before something happens... there are a lot of close ups... then he makes the horror thing unpredictable... looking into the eyes of the film characters makes the audience feel a feeling of burden and guilt.. a little of dramatic irony in the movie..
all in all.. the movie delivers... good thing chito rono makes the horror genre raise its bar a considerable height... wahahaha.. i love it...
and i know the people did....
when i watched it for the second time, i got annoyed by all those magbabarkadas... who laughs their butts out when they doesn't understand a point or two from the movie... aaackk!!! dumb people need to be dead
my little brother got scared and wahahahaha... my sister too..!!!! ehehehe..
